| HI All, thanks for the post on my Great Grandfather. Can I ask why the interest in him? I do have further photos on him if anyone is interested. I went to Gingin to see where he fought, and Eshowe too. He sparked my interest in collecting 99th Regiment AZW medals - I now have four all from his Company (G Coy). The newspaper clips are fascinating - he did indeed become quite high in the RAOB. I was given his various 'jewels' and apron a while ago. I'm a newcomer to this forum/group, I can already see that there is so much information on here! Thank you :-) |

| Hi Albert Welcome to the forum and glad we could help with your family history. The forum is here to unravell the details and mysteries of this short but famous campaign and that includes the lives of those who took part, hence the interest in your great grandfather. It would be nice to see a photograph of him and know the names of the other G Company men in your medal collection. The forum provides a mass of information at your finger tips and its combined members probably have the finest physical library on the subject in the world. If there is anything we can help you with just let us know. Good luck with your collecting. Kate |

| Hi Kate, thank you for your welcome. I have a number of 99th medals now, for the majority I have military records for and some are quite illusive! Once I work out how to upload an image (only seem to see links to images), then I will upload what I have. I have medals for the following; 1077 Samuel Clarke 2268 George Davis 2038 James Ellis 1155 Thomas Harrison Poss G Coy 1909 Jesse Kimber A Coy Lake 1261 George Mead B Coy 975 William Haddrell A or C Coy 1261 George Mead B Coy 1797 Richard Pursey A or C Coy 2233 Joseph Reaney - no details 1297 Sgt Dalton - have a medal for him but can't see him win the Medal Roll 1609 Thomas J Wilson - no details apart from Pension
Any steers would be appreciated. If anyone has any 99th medals for sale, I'd be interested.
Many thanks once again :-)
