Hi All,
Phillip [philip] Henry Rundle [Rundles] both spellings appear on records but mainly PHILIP HENRY RUNDLE, attested 15 Dec 1876 age 20, Born 1856/57 Charlestown or Mount Charles St Austell Cornwall. To 25th Brig R Artillery this became N/6th RA, No.1589 [this had been changed so could be 1569], to S Africa S.S. Olympion [Olympia] 24 Feb 1879, sick on ship 4 March 1879, to base Hospital Cape Town 26 March 1879, until 23 April 1879, total 48 days sick Gonorrhoea, under Doctor J.M. Jones. ZW79, to India 28 Oct 1879, discharged 12 Feb 1889 at Woolwich 12 yrs. Inten Res Aberdare. 1891, 1901, 1911, 1921 census John St Abercwmboi, Aberdare, He is Coalminer, Coal Mine Hewer, and Collier, Married to Mary Ann 3 kids and 1 Stepson. Abercwmboi is a village about half mile from Aberdare. He dies June Qtr 1938 in Pontypridd District. He is probably buried in Maeryranan Cemetery nr Abercwmboi.
