James Richardson Pioneer Sergeant 2/4th Regiment?

The only Pioneer Sergeant entitled to a SAGS in the 2/4th is 1240 A Gamon.
There is a Private 11/2326 T Richardson in that Regiment. Could the 'T' have been mistaken for a 'J' when transcribing the rolls?

Hi All,
A, John William Richardson appears on the 1911 census born 1864 Preston, married to Ellen 1 child address 5 Garfield Street Fleetwood, he is a Blacksmith, his death is registered on March Qtr 1945 in Fylde district Lancs [this includes Fleetwood].

Not the man in the Newspaper, John William Richardson born Newbury 1848, attested 27 May 1868, to 32nd Regt, deserted 26 Aug 1875, rejoined 26 Nov 1876 all past service forfeited, to 94th No.2463, 21 Feb 1879, to S Africa discharged reason Rheumiatism suffered at the Cape 5 Oct 1880 at Armagh. On the roll No Clasp Medal. His papers state Awarded SA Medal 1879 War Office 27 June 1913.
