Patrick Walsh a suicide

Hi All,
Patrick Walsh was born circa 1833 in Banagher Cty Offaly [Kings] Ireland. He enlisted 1st Nov 1850 age 17, serving for 20 yrs in 3 regiments, 89th, 38th and finally 75th regiment. He served 4 yrs in India and 1 yr in the Crimea, never South Africa. He was discharged aboard HMTS Tamar 11 Oct 1871. His intended residence is Banagher but this has been crossed out and replaced by Cape Town. We can deduce from this that between 1871 and when he died in 1903 he lived in South Africa, so there is a possibility he could have served as a volunteer in the Zulu War.
There is a death reported in the April/June Qtr for Birr District Offaly Ireland, Banagher was in this district.
