number of rounds

i thought i read somewhere of the total number of ammunition rounds that were at rorkes drift. does anyone have an idea what that number was? thanks for looking.

I think It says in a private letter somewhere on the site, or I have read it in an article that it was 20,000.
I will see if I can find it.
