| Picked up these from the Natal Witness:
Trpr. J. ADAMS Natal Mounted Police
died 2.7.79, thrown from his horse on Greytown Race Course and killed (Natal Witness 12.7.79). This can only be the 234 Trpr. C.F. Adams in the Police Roll unless, of course, anyone knows better (wrong initials always worry me).
James Cope MANN
killed in action on the Hlobane Mountain 28.3.79 (Natal Witness 29.4.79). This must have been Trpr. Mann, Border Horse. I've not seen his forenames mentioned before.
John William ROBSON
died 6.8.79 at C...?, Biggarsberg, eldest son of JS Robson JP, Border Agent (Natal Witness 16.8.79). This is the Trpr. Robson Buffalo Border Guard who was on the Mangeni Reconnaissance with Chelmsford and is the first time I've seen WHERE he died, though whether of illness or an accident I still don't know. |

Regarding Tpr Adams, there is a headstone in Greytown cemetery with the following inscription:
John G Adams
Trooper N.M. Police
Died at Greytown
2ND July 1879
Aged 33 Years
