Harry,

‘D’ Company, 2nd Battalion, 24th (2nd Warwickshire) Regiment were out with Lord Chelmsford’s portion of No. 3 Column towards Mangeni, having left iSandlwana in the early morning of 22nd January 1879.  Returning to the destroyed encampment at iSandlwana after nightfall.  In the morning of 23rd January 1879 they would be part of the relief of Rorke’s Drift.
