Edward John Donlon 1/13th Regiment deserter ? Alfred Newton

Edward John Donlon was charged with being a deserter from the 1-13th Regiment. The charge was made at the instance of E. Norris, baker, formerly in the same regiment. Alfred Newton the Colour Sergeant of the company defendant was said to have been in. however, said he coul dnot remember him and defendant was discharged. The latter is employed at the Colonial exchange as a barman.
