A new acquisition, a Dublin studio cdv of Captain H. A. Bushman, 9th (Queen’s Royal) Lancers.

Bushman accompanied Sir Garnet Wolseley to South Africa in May, 1879, and served on Wolseley’s personal staff in the closing stages of the Zulu War. Promoted to Major 27th June, 1879.

At the conclusion of the Zulu campaign fought in the assault of Sekhukhune’s stronghold in the northern Transvaal. Mentioned in dispatches. Medal with clasp 1879, appointed Companion of the Bath.
