Partial eclipse of the sun over Isandlwana Empty
PostSubject: Re: Partial eclipse of the sun over Isandlwana   Partial eclipse of the sun over Isandlwana EmptyThu Mar 05, 2009 2:08 pm

Extract from Isandlwana 1879 By Ian Knight, Adam Hook.

There was a partial eclipse;the moon passed passed across 65 % of the face of the sun,and the sky darkened. The eclipse started ata bout 1:30pm,just as the line collasped and was at is height at 2:29pm, just as the british stands were veing broken up.

Unless, Iam reading the NASA the chart shows the partial eclipse started at 11:51:05 and was at its peak at 11:53:08.

The battle commenced around 11.30am on the 22nd January 1879 which means the battle had only be going for 23 mins when eclipse was at its peak.

Please correct me if I have read the Chart wrong ?

S.D.
