Why did the British want to capture Cetshwayo? They had numerous opportunities to kill him. If they had there would have been no need to go to war in the first place.

Cetshwayo was reinstated some years later anyway.

And his own people poisoned him. (Problem Solved)

So my question is why go to all that bother to capture him.?

That is a very good question John. To which I don’t have an answer. This I would think would be down to the more knowledgeable one on the forum.
