Didn't know the Navy wore Pith Helmets.

The Royal Marines (RMLI & RMA) wore helmets, as did the Naval Officers. I have not seen a photograph (or a sketch) of a navy petty officer or seaman wearing a helmet.
There is a reference to helmets by Commander Campbell of HMS Active's Naval Brigade, when he is listing the wounded from the Battle of Inyezane: "G. Berryman was knocked down by a bullet through his helmet just before being struck in the thigh."

Berryman is listed erroneously as wounded at Ulundi on some list out there, but he wasn't at Ulundi. The Naval Brigade wasn't at Ulundi; only Lt. A.B. Milne, naval A.D.C.
See the Table of Killed and Wounded of the Naval Brigade signed by Surgeon Henry Norbury of the Active's Naval Brigade, and P.M.O. of the Naval Brigade from The Gazette (7 November 1879). It names all navy personnel killed in action, or wounded, and the battle.
The list is about half way down the page on the left side.
