MERRY CHRISTMAS. What an enjoyable year. Thanks to everyone who has contributed. And a very special MERRY CHRISTMAS to those who fell by the wayside. Fear not the ranks were filled. Looking forward to another great year on the "Zulu War 1879 Discussion and reference forum" ( A small Victoria War)
New years resolution.

Greetings one and all, have a fantastic Xmas and New year. A few words from Trooper Symons to finish of the year
One day... we halted on an eminence covered with soft green grass and as I lay there our Captain ( Shepstone) came up to me and said: " Well Symonds wouldnt you like to see this slope covered with dead Zulu?", I replied"No Sir I wouldnt", "why not" said he. "Because we have no quarrel with the Zulus and I consider this war an unjust one." He turned and walked away without a word.
