This is an audio recording held by the Imperial War Museum. General Sir Ivo Vesey describes his meetings with Empress Eugenie at Farnborough Hill, including a discussion on the death of the Prince Imperial.

A meeting with Empress Eugenie Empty
PostSubject: Empress of the French   A meeting with Empress Eugenie EmptyFri Jan 05, 2018 6:59 pm

Hi Steve,

Thanks for posting. Most interesting!
HRH Princess Eugenie, according to the transcript, true to form was very warm and friendly, gracious and enjoyed showing artifacts from Zululand to her visitor, Vesey, at her palace at Farnborough Park. This time however it was not the tamboekie grass, in a pot, taken from her son's site of death, shown to Vesey, but rather saddlery and the shroud that the Prince Imperial's  body was wrapped in etc.

regards
