Correspondence for the year 1877. The war between the Transvaal and the tribes which set the context for the AZW. Nicely bound in a single volume.

This gives a pretty good idea of the bulk of a full set. Still 1300 pages short.

Just bought a further series of Blue Books covering South Africa and Natal from 1826, the establishment of the Colony, all the various Kaffir Wars and the First Boer War in 1880/1. These will sit alongside my three volumes covering the AZW. I will post some of the maps and plans in the next few days. They include two early Arrowsmith maps of SA, the Bushman's Pass in 1873, the accommodation provided to Cetshwayo in Cape Town Castle and the Allocation of Portions of Zululand to different chiefs after his capture. I would not normally have gone for such a wide range but they were such a silly price at £4.50 each compared with the published price of £140 per volume! I simply could not resist.
