| I have received information from the Royal Welsh Museum, Brecon, that some burst water pipes have caused some water damage within the museum. Apparently some quick thinking by the museum’s staff and volunteers prevented the damage from being far worse. Photographs of the damage can be viewed on [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]JY |

| I have just had an update regarding the Museum, it will remain closed until at least March 2023, possibly even longer depending on the speed of the repairs.

| Hi John
Great news, I hope there was not to much damage to artifacts, it would be a shame if there was. |

| Eddie,
There was several hundreds of thousands pounds worth of damage caused to displayed collections, as well as to display cases and archived material.

| Hi John
What a shame, I thought at first it was a few cabinets and structural damage, never knew it was that bad. |

| jgregory,
As far as I am aware only the Museum copies will be on display.
The original Victoria Crosses from the Zulu War in the Museum’s Collection were on display during the visit of His Late Majesty King Goodwill Zwelithini kaBhekuzulu in 2019, in fact His Majesty unveiled them for public display, since then I believe they have been returned to the vault.
