Not sure if this has been covered before. But did the troops carrying water purifying tablets or similar. Or was the water boiled or did they just collect water from the rivers and drink. ( I'm just thinking about water-born diseases )

Hi Dave,

My dad thinks that Water tablets where not around at that time. Boiling it seems the most likly way they cleaned it, however i think i remember an account from Hamilton-Browne who said that they had water from a stream that seemed brackish, but they drank it anyway.

Cheers

Hi Impi.
Thanks for finding the thread on Water / Waterbottle etc . Ian Knight covers the water aspect in his
book ' A Companion To The AZW ' under the topic of disease . Someone who knows how to scan
and post may do so for us that are computer challenged ................ Me being one firmly in that camp !!.
cheers 90th. Idea
