Hi
The rifle belongs to 648 Nicholas.
There are markings on the gun that idenitify this was his rifle.
It was lost at Isandlwana and taken by the Zulus, it was then retaken at Kambula.

Subject: Pvt . Nicholas any information ? Wed Nov 23, 2011 12:24 am
Hi DB14 . This isnt foolproof info on Nicholas but he does get a mention in this print which I have by Jason Askew , thought you may be interested . The caption at the bottom of the print depicts Pvt . Nicholas as the soldier in the slight right of middle , wearing the Blue Flannel shirt after he has been speared by an Assegai . The Print is titled ' The Death Of Private Williams VC. ' 22nd January 1879 Isandlwana .
