By Carlos Roca (Hardback)
I’m being told this book is something special, with photographs that have never been published before and other interesting facts that are not in other AZW History books. As anyone on the forum purchased this book. And is it worth having.

I have this book. Photo's very good. But nothing you have seen before. Various accounts by the defenders. I would say “you wouldn’t be sorry if you brought this book.”
RORKE’S DRIFT THE IMMORTAL ANGLO-ZULU WAR Carlos Roca
At 16.20 hours on Wednesday the 22nd January 1879, when the first shot rang out at the battle of Rorke’s Drift, everything appeared to be stacked against the thin red line of 144 men defending their mission station against the Zulus.
Awarded a record number of 11 Victoria Crosses, the fistful of red jackets managed valiantly to withstand the relentless attack of 4,500 brave Zulu warriors for more than ten hours, with Rorke's Drift going down in history as one of the British Army's finest hours and restoring Victorian Britain's faith in their army. Immortalised in the film Zulu, this book recounts those bloody, desperate 10 hours in all their glory, with numerous photographs and first-hand accounts of many of those involved.

hi all, I have his book, ISANDLWANA THE BITTER ZULU VICTORY,and thought there was some little errors in there, not sure if it was lost in translation or some "typo"s, but i wouldnt want to be paying any more than 8-10 quid. I dont think i would purchase the rorkes drift book for the above reasons. If you want a book on R.D. you cant beat RORKES DRIFT by THOSE WHO WERE THERE, by ALAN BAYNHAM JONES and LEE STEVENSON, not many photos but some i hadnt seen before, lists the accounts of the survivors, also KRIS WHEATLEY"S LEGACY SERIES VOL 1-6 , deals with the unknown particapants of the battle, pete (admin) has the full set and swears by them, i am eagerly awaiting my copies to arrive. cheers 90th.

If "typo" errors annoy you don't buy. Quite a lot in this book as well.
