(2/1/1879 to 30/1/1880): Campaigns: Zulu 1879, Mentioned in Despatches: Medical Officer Field Hospital at Helpmakaar from 16/1/1879: Reported sick at Ladysmith c.28/2/1879: Present at Ulundi: Died 27/1/1896, (Meean Meer, India): Medals South Africa 1879, Indian General Service medal, Burma 1885-1887.
Army Surgeon Dugald Blair Brown, who was born in Gorbals, Scotland on 4 March 1847, joined the Army on 30 March 1872, served in the Zulu Wars, Boer War, India and Burma, and died (in service in the Punjab) on 27 January 1896.

John I assume you are aware Blair Brown is actually Dugald Blair Brown ?? , who is the author , and therefore , the book is his own actual experiences ! . I see Graves posted the info you asked for . 90th
