Unidentified 24th Officer

Subject: Unidentified 24th Officer Mon Jan 29, 2018 12:13 am

Pictured at the School of Musketry, Hythe, circa 1874-1880: is this officer of the 24th Regiment. Does anyone have any suggestions as to his identity?

Hi JY, i'm useless at matching faces.. i looked at Hart's 77, Clement's, and Mainwaring
are in the frame maybe..

I think Ralph Clements is a possible, I only have 2nd Boer War images of him to compare it with.

Upcher was certainly in the U. K., up until 1877.

The photograph is certainly post-1874, due the change of forage-cap badge. I was gauging the latter date by the School’s Commandant, who appears in the photograph.
