Looking with a suspicious eye on the RD claim there are 2 J Morris's in the 2/24
2/24 /2788 James Morris discharge address Lunatic asylum (so not him)
2876 J Morris F Company deserted 18.10.79.
In the 1st Battalion there 2 J Morris's
1654 J Morris
25B/2152 J Morris

I typed in my phone "Sgt James Morris Zulu War"
When the information came up i scrawled dond to the images. There is a picture of a James Morris that appears. It's says he was WW1, but as he has appeared under Zulu war he may have been at both.
Could not enter the site to find out more.

Hi All,
James Morris born Darlaston Staffordshire 1857. 1911 census Brixton London, Married to Mary Ann 4 Children, he Army Pensioner. Death registered June Qtr 1932 in Wandsworth District.

The normal criteria for an army pensioner being selected as a Yeoman Warder at the Tower was that former soldier had to have been awarded an Army Long Service & Good Conduct Medal (today Navy and RAF are included). There is no pensioner named Morris who served in 24th/SWB fits this criteria. Also there is fair chance that as long service soldier - James Morris's service documents survive in the National Archives.
