The Aberystwyth Observer and Marionethshire News Saturday 22 February, 1879 A dozen flat-bottomed horse boats were got ready at Portsmouth for use in landing horses from transports at Natal. Each troopship will carry one or more. The boats carry ten horses, and their sterns are arranged to fall and form a bow. Are there any Photos that have survived of these horse boats I wonder.
