Subject: Cave discovered at the foot of Isandlwana. Fri Apr 01, 2011 1:36 am
A cave a been discovered at the foot of Isandlwana. So far 46 skeleton remains, have been found each lying with remnants of red tunics believed that to be of the British solders that found shelter during the Battle of Isandlwana. A spokesman as confirmed that at least one was dressed in a blue uniform. Tunic buttons and other insignia show the rank to be a major. Possibly that of Major Pulleine. Documents found near by have been removed for further examination. 32 Martini Henry Rifle have been found at the back of the cave none of which contained ammunition or bayonets. The documents that have been removed will hopefully shed some light on how the 46 solders came to be in the cave. Will up-date when we received more information. Littlehand, indeed, it was brimful of stuff, we went in it when we visited the week before last, they were still investigating it , but the sheer number of puff adders had prevented further penetration into the depths, apparently alot of the gear was found overnight, they are hopeful to find more today. Pity it won't be there tomorrow.
